COVID POSITIVE NOTIFICATION

Good afternoon!

We praise and thank the Lord for His continued grace and kindness upon us as a people and nation, and for His mercy and protection amidst the pandemic and unrest that exists around us.

LifeBridge has just learned that a LifeBridge child of Toddler/BridgeKidz age has tested positive for COVID-19 who was in worship at LifeBridge yesterday, Sunday, December 26.

WE URGE:

  1. Discuss with your doctor the benefits of available vaccines and their possible appropriateness for you.
  2. When appropriate, wear a CDC approved face covering.
  3. Enhance your social distancing discipline to maintain 6 feet of distance from others not in your immediate family.
  4. Carefully monitor your symptoms and avoid all personal contact and nonessential travel if you feel the least bit ill.
  5. Continue hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer.
  6. Should you have any symptoms or feel ill, stay away from in-person worship and seek advice from your healthcare professional.
  7. Speak with your health care provider or local Health Department officials with any specific questions you may have about your health or COVID-19.

To ensure your safety LIFEBRIDGE CONTINUES TO:

  1. Have masks and hand sanitizer available for folks as they enter.
  2. Encourage folks to wear masks when not seated each Sunday morning.
  3. Continue to perform contact tracing on those who attend services.
  4. Start handing out Communion elements and fellowship snacks to minimize contact by several.
  5. Closely monitor local, state and federal guidance and adjust our COVID-19 protocols accordingly.

This virus, like all struggles will continue to win some battles in this world. But fear not; for Jesus has overcome the world and won the war!

Continuing to look at Jesus,

Typically the Sunday after Christmas is…not well attended.

Lord, I am your servant, and now I can die in peace, because you have kept your promise to me. With my own eyes I have seen what you have done to save your people, and foreign nations will also see this. Your mighty power is a light for all nations, and it will bring honor to your people Israel.

Luke 2:29-32 (cev)

It seems anticlimactic and the excitement of Christmas is over.

Perhaps it seemed that way for Mary & Joseph, too.

The shepherds were gone, the birth has happened and now comes…regular life.

But the coming of Jesus gives us a different take on Life.

As Simeon said soon after Jesus’ birth, he can now go in peace having seen God’s salvation in Jesus!

Wow!

That is exciting! That is meaningful! That is LIFE!

Thanks You, Lord!

Let us now, also, depart in the peace that comes from Jesus!

Scriptures

  • Luke 2:22-40

O Come, Let Us Adore Him, Christ, the Lord!

Thank You, heavenly Father, for sending Your Son, Jesus to us!

May there be peace on earth and goodwill among all! (Luke 2:14)

Scriptures

  • PART I — The Prophecies
    Isaiah 7:14; 9:2-7; Micah 5:2
  • PART II — The Birth of Jesus Foretold
    Luke 1:26-38; Matthew 1:18b-25
  • PART III — Mary’s Song
    Luke 1:39-56
  • PART IV — Jesus is Born
    Luke 2:1-20

Incarnate!

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:14 (esv)

It can be easy for us to look at the Baby in the manger and see just that Baby.

But this was no ordinary child.

He is the Word made flesh! He is the only Son of the Father! He is the promised Messiah!

Praise the Lord for unordinary, unorthodox, undeserved Gift – Jesus!

Scriptures

  • John 1:1-18

Proud Papa!

The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Zephaniah 3:17 (esv)

It can be easy to feel insignificant and far from God – especially when wallowing in the shame of our sins.

But the whole reason Jesus came was to free us from those sins, release us from that shame and guilt, and draw us to Himself!

Instead of being far from God, through Jesus, He draws us to Himself – and even rejoices over us with gladness!

Amazing!

Simply amazing!

The Books of Luke & Acts

“It seemed good to me…to write an orderly account for you,…that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.” ~Luke 1:3-4

So begins the Gospel of Luke, where we hear about the prophecy of Jesus, His life, His death, and His resurrection. Luke then follows up with the book of Acts where he begins with the Ascension and ends with St. Paul in Rome.

The Life of Jesus and the start of the New Testament Church!

That’s a lot of great stuff and Luke was careful to record it so all might know and believe in Jesus.

Acts 2:42 tells us, “they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”

May we devote ourselves to this — for the glory of God and the faith of others!

Join us as we explore: Sundays, 8:30 AM in the café, starting in January, 2022.
