Today we have a baptism and celebrate the Holy Spirit granted in a special way.
Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
John 3:5b
We are also reminded of our own baptism and the gift given to all who believe in Jesus.
In and through our Faith in Jesus, we have been blessed by being “born of water and the Spirit!”
What an awesome blessing – and reason to celebrate!
“ ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh.’ … And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Acts 2:17a, 21
Pentecost is a pivotal event in the life of the Church. In fact, it’s often called “the birthday of the Church.”
On it, of course, we celebrate the gift of the promised Holy Spirit given to believers – and what that means for them and for the world in the light of Jesus!
May we be filled with the Spirit today!
Read the following as one, continuous story.
For the remainder of this year, we will be taking 15 minutes before worship to sit, pray, and seek the Lord’s Will in regard to LifeBridge: why He has us here; how He wants us to fulfill our mission (“Reaching the Lost; Discipling the Saved; and Sharing the Love of Jesus with Everyone”) and serve in our community in their needs and beyond; what area(s) is He calling us to serve and support? For some good passages to meditate/pray upon, try starting with the passages below.

Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. |
