“Div. by 0 Error! Undefined!”

Our world is divided. Our country is divided. Our congregation is divided.

If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.

Mark 3:25

This should not and cannot be the case for the Body of Christ!

If we are to live in and for the cause of CHRIST, then we must find our unity in HIM and focus on it, and not something else – whatever it is!

That means loving and supporting our brothers and sisters even in disagreements because of the Faith we share and in Whom we share it – not matter what!

SCRIPTURE:

Goodness, Gracious, Great Balls of Fire

“ ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh.’ … And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Acts 2:17a, 21

Pentecost is a pivotal event in the life of the Church. In fact, it’s often called “the birthday of the Church.”

On it, of course, we celebrate the gift of the promised Holy Spirit given to believers – and what that means for them and for the world in the light of Jesus!

May we be filled with the Spirit today!

Scriptures

Read the following as one, continuous story.

“A Life of Denial”

If our lives were examined, who or what should show up as our priority? Our lives, as Christians, aren’t about us. They are about Jesus and being winsome to others for Him. We should be willing to give up all – our very self – for Him and others; just as Jesus did for us. Denial is a fundamental characteristic of a Christian. Let’s show that. Let’s live that.

“If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” ~Jesus

“Change Your Mind”

What changes a person – and what does it mean to be changed? More precisely, what does it mean and how does it manifest itself in the life of a Christian? God has something to says about that.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.

“Simple Salvation”

What does God see in us? Why would He give any attention to the likes of us, who constantly rebel and disobey? His answer: because He loves us and desires to be with us for eternity! He considers us a treasure! May we consider Him ours!

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

“’X’ Marks the Spot”

What does God see in us? Why would He give any attention to the likes of us, who constantly rebel and disobey? His answer: because He loves us and desires to be with us for eternity! He considers us a treasure! May we consider Him ours!

You are a people holy to the LORD your God.

“Roundup”

There will be struggles and things in this world hurt, and challenge us. That’s a certainty. The Devil sows weeds to choke us. In fact, all of Creation is suffering due to sin. But as certain as sin and Satan are, their destruction is assured – as is our eternal life!

Hold on tight! He’s got you!

The Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Romans 8:26b (ESV)

SCRIPTURES USED:

  • Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43
  • Romans 8:18-27
